What is an audiologist?
An audiologist is a certified medical professional with a clinical doctorate degree who works to improve the quality of the life for patients through delivering treatment and resources related to medical conditions of the ear. Those conditions range from hearing loss to tinnitus, auditory processing disorder, and even balance problems. Audiologists may serve patients from both pediatric and adult age groups. At Timeless Hearing, we specialize in patients ranging from about 4 years old and up, working primarily, but certainly not limited to, an adult population.
In addition to education and consultation, our audiologists spend much of their time conducting comprehensive hearing evaluations and other diagnostic protocols that can validate and verify hearing and communication challenges that our patients and their families report.
Special attention is paid to hearing ability at various frequencies and sound levels, as well as in the presence of loud background noise. Results are analyzed to diagnose specific types and causes of hearing loss so that the appropriate hearing aid type can be prescribed, if needed.
